REFRIANGO AND KUENA PLATFORM SIGN AGREEMENT TO EXPAND VOLEIBLUE PROJECT, A REFERENCE IN SCHOOL SPORTS AND NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL

Refriango and Kuena Platform today formalized an Institutional Cooperation Protocol in Luanda with the aim of expanding and professionalizing the VoleiBlue Project, a pioneering initiative in Angola's school and competitive sports landscape. The signing of this agreement represents a strategic step in both entities’ commitment to promoting sports, social inclusion, and the development of national talent.

Luanda, June 7, 2025 – The Institutional Cooperation Protocol between Refriango and Kuena Platform aims to enhance the reach and results of VoleiBlue in both socio-educational and competitive sports aspects. Under the agreement signed this morning at Refriango’s industrial complex in Kikuxi, the project plans to cover more schools and students in the coming years and ensure the continued competitive excellence of Blue Volei Clube.

With this protocol, both entities strengthen key components of this socially-driven sports project, such as refurbishing and equipping primary school facilities, integrating an increasing number of educational institutions and students into the project, and promoting curricular and extracurricular sports activities to positively occupy the youths' free time.

In the competitive sports field, another core component of the VoleiBlue Project, the signed protocol aims at achieving more national titles across all age groups, participating in international tournaments, and including Blue Volei Clube players in national teams due to their high preparation and quality.

These sports objectives are continuously aligned with the educational component integral to the VoleiBlue Project, considering indicators such as academic performance of the club’s athletes, who receive scholarships for secondary and university education, as well as logistical support and general and specialized medical care.

To achieve technical-pedagogical excellence and meet socio-educational and sports goals, the partner institutions have jointly implemented a continuous training program for teachers and coaches. They also commit to establishing ARENA Refriango as a national benchmark for sporting excellence in volleyball development.

Lilian Weyll, President of Kuena Platform, emphasized today during the signing ceremony with Refriango that the partnership within the VoleiBlue Project represents much more than an institutional commitment—it is a direct investment in Angola’s future.

“Investing in the future means caring for the present—there’s no more valuable investment than the one made in our children. This alliance with Refriango is a firm step towards a fairer, more inclusive country ready to face future challenges.”

For Lilian, VoleiBlue is a living example of how sports can be a powerful tool for transformation.

“We are offering our children much more than volleyball lessons. We’re teaching values, awakening talent, and creating real opportunities. VoleiBlue develops champions on and off the court by promoting discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence.”

The president of Kuena also highlighted the role of the private sector in this transformative movement:

“When socially responsible companies like Refriango join forces with platforms dedicated to human development, the impact is lasting. We aim to reach more schools, touch more lives, and inspire more dreams. With Kuena and VoleiBlue on the field, our youth’s future grows stronger.”

Tânia Jardim, Marketing Director at Refriango, stressed that “this protocol formalizes a promising alliance, as both Refriango and Kuena Platform believe in sports as a tool for building the future, capable of training not just athletes but also conscious, disciplined citizens prepared to actively contribute to the country's growth.” “VoleiBlue exemplifies how a social responsibility initiative can have a lasting positive impact, exceeding expectations regarding inclusion, social value, and the transmission of values and skills. When Refriango launched this project 12 years ago, it forever changed school sports in the country, bringing volleyball to thousands of students. Additionally, with the creation of Blue Volei Clube in 2016, volleyball gained new competitive vitality, with our players revitalizing national championships and elevating Angola's name in international tournaments,” she added.

After signing the protocol, representatives from Refriango, Kuena Platform, and guests attended the start of the Inter-school Volleyball Championship.

VoleiBlue is a project initiated by Refriango in 2013, combining corporate social responsibility with sports. Since then, VoleiBlue has become a national reference in school sports for children aged 8 to 12, offering integrated physical education and volleyball initiation programs in school curricula, as well as extracurricular activities promoting self-discipline, cooperation, loyalty, and healthy lifestyle habits.

In the competitive field represented by Blue Volei Clube, the project stands out nationally with 21 titles won since 2016, involving 90 athletes who benefit from specialized training, medical and logistical support, scholarships, and access to national and international competitions.
